From the late-1990s through the early 2000s, a little trio from Laramie, Wyoming named the Custom Caravans purveyed and proselytized a rare brand of Surf-o-Phonic Trash-Rock Mayhem. The group released an album called Gregor Samsa Buys a Gun, copies of which may still be found in treasure chests or safe deposit boxes across the world. Known for their energetic, loud, and often outrageous live performances, the Custom Caravans would often break bass strings and beer bottles, sometimes appear in leotards and wrestling masks, and every now and then would show up wearing nothing but slim strips of animal print loin cloths! They regularly played favorite local and legendary Laramie venues like the Hickey House, The Mini, the Provisional Café, and often appeared in Colorado at places such as the Starlight and Surf Side 7 in Fort Collins and the Bluebird and Lion’s Lair in Denver. Thanks to a network of friends and the all-too-vital BYOFL resources, they even spread the word to the masses on a few multi-state tours!

Having gone separate ways in 2003 to explore uncharted territories and learn the customs of the peoples in Nevada, New Mexico, and Colorado, Shane, Dusty, and Dan found themselves back in Laramie in 2017, ready for a fresh start with a new but similar approach, and together became De Gringos Y Gremmies. Older, wiser, and a little more laid back but still pulling out surprises, the trio continues to refine their sound and channel their love of all things tiki, surf, and western into their unique brand of Spaghetti-Infused Western Surf Rock from the High Plains of Wyoming. Primarily instrumentalists, De Gringos Y Gremmies are not afraid to add a dash of vocals now and then to keep the listener on their toes. As fans of beach, biker, and western movies, De Gringos Y Gremmies are the soundtrack for the movies in which they would otherwise be extras.

Featuring Shane Wallace on guitar and vocals, Dusty Richards on bass and baritone guitars, and Dan Walker on drums and other percussive tools, De Gringos Y Gremmies is currently available for accompanying your dance party, birthday soiree, cocktail mixology seminar, or baby making activities.

In 2021, De Gringos Y Gremmies released their debut album, The Band from Laramie.
